About Our Norfolk Long Exposure and Sunset Photography Workshop
Norfolk is home to miles of stunning coastline along with the unique Broads National Park. Coupled with its famous big open skies, the area is perfect for both long exposure and sunset photography.
Our long exposure and sunset photography workshop will be based on the stunning coastline of Norfolk. During the workshop, you will visit a number of iconic coastal locations whilst receiving expert in-depth tuition on using photographic filers for long exposure from our course tutors. The workshop has been specifically scheduled to finish shortly after the best light of the day at sunset.
There will be a maximum of 10 participants on our workshops with 2 tutors.
What is long exposure photography?
Long exposure photography is when you take a photo over an extended period of time.  It is an image that you cannot take handheld if you want the result to be sharp. By using long exposure techniques it will create blur within the image. Traditionally it is used for water or clouds, or even to remove people from images. This effect is created by using what is called Neutral density filters that we attach to the front of our lens.
What We Cover On Our Workshops
Our workshops cater to all levels of ability, from beginner through to experienced photographers. The tuition is delivered with a combination of group and individual instruction throughout the course of the workshop. You will learn what to look for to create the perfect image and will gain the knowledge required to understand what filters to use and how to calculate long exposures correctly. The subjects covered include but is not limited to:
– Explanation of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO and their relationship to each other.
– Understanding your camera’s metering modes.
– Understanding the histogram.
– Manual focusing.
– Advice and guidance around image composition.
– Setting up your camera correctly for shooting long exposures.
– Choosing the correct filters to use.
– Calculating the correct long exposure time.
