About Our Windmills of Norfolk Photography Workshop

The Broads National Park is home to numerous windmills which were historically used for milling or for pumping water.  At the peak of the nineteenth century, Norfolk alone was home to over 700 windmills.  A number of these windmills have been well preserved and maintained whilst others are now in a state of decay, but many more have sadly long been demolished.

Coupled with Norfolk’s famous big skies, the character of these many windmills lend themselves perfectly to landscape photography, particularly at sunrise and sunset.  During the workshop, you will visit a number of Norfolk’s iconic windmills whilst receiving expert tuition from our course tutors.  The workshop has been specifically scheduled to finish shortly after the best light of the day at sunset.

There will be a maximum of 10 participants in our workshops with 2 tutors.
