Derelict building and model Photography experience

Saturday 10th June 2023

This photoshoot opportunity is something we have not done with Through the Lens workshops before but is a subject our Tutor Dibs has shot plenty of in the past, the site is in Norfolk with full permission from the landowner.
A percentage of the proceeds will also be going towards the charity Veterans Central
The private photoshoot will take place in part of a derelict RAF Base and start at the location at 2 pm and aim to be finished at around 6 pm, during the session we will be photographing both the model and also the derelict building itself.
Please note: Due to the very last-minute agreement of this session, there are no images to show off the model in situ, but please be assured this will all be in hand.
This photoshoot is for anybody who has a basic understanding of the manual controls on their DSLR camera right through to the keen hobbyist who loves to get out there and knows their camera really well.
There will be limited help on hand if you do get stuck, just ask Dibs or Duncan who will also be there with their cameras if you need it, but please do note this is not a dedicated workshop for expert tuition to be on hand at all times.
A car will be essential during the session as you will be responsible for getting yourself to the rural Norfolk location.
You will be supplied with a map of the location and postcode or coordinates if you prefer, a satnav is advisable.

Spare batteries.

Torch.

A Speedlight for the model shoot if you wish.

Memory cards with sufficient space for a day’s photography.

Wide-angle & macro & standard lens & Zoom.

Tripod.

Remote shutter release.

Clothing

Suitable clothing and footwear.  Although we will be inside, there may be broken glass and other sharp items laying around due to the way nature reclaims buildings, so please ensure you have sensible footwear on.

Ability Level

This workshop is suitable for photographers who have an understanding of how to use their cameras without assistance.

You will need a moderate fitness level for this workshop as participants will be walking on undulating terrain and you will be carrying your own equipment for up to 20 minutes at a time.

Bookings

Booking and your spot are confirmed once full payment has been received via our checkout system.

You will receive an email 2 days before the start date of the workshop, this is to confirm the location. Please keep an eye on your spam folder as sometimes the first email we send you can end up in there.

Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel the workshop due to adverse weather or low ticket sales, a full refund will be offered in this case.

Please also note

Please do not be late for the session as there is the possibility that access to the site will be closed.

Images used to publicise the session are not taken in the building we will be using, but they will be of very similar levels of decay and character.

Please aim to be at the location between 1:40 pm and 1:50 pm and also ensure you park sensibly. You will not be allowed to start early if you arrive early, as we need to check everybody in to ensure everybody is accounted for.

Please bring food and drink, sensible footwear for walking on unpaved pathways and suitable clothing.

Neither Through the Lens Workshops nor the tutors nor the site owners can be held responsible for any injuries or damage caused to yourself or your property while on this session.

Kind Regards,

Through The Lens Workshops
