About

Workshops staff

Welcome to the Through the Lens Workshops. We are Amanda, Dibs and Duncan. A small group of dedicated, skilled photographers with a wealth of experience and knowledge in all disciplines of photography.

All of the team have experience in running workshops on a one to one basis or in a group environment. Collectively we felt there was value in working together. This allows us to deliver quality workshop training to larger groups even in further afield locations to reduce the overall cost for all participants.

We each have our own style which complement each other’s and love nothing more than getting out with the camera to amazing locations with groups of other like minded individuals. From our collective experience we are able to provide mentoring and guidance on image composition, a comprehensive understanding of your camera settings and how they relate to each other, lens choices, how to approach planning for shooting a particular subject whether it be landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, night photography, portraits and post processing workflows and techniques within Lightroom and Photoshop.

Amanda

I am an experienced photographer and have worked all over Europe and as far away as Australia. Covering World Class Polo events for various teams and players, including Gold Cup winners Cortium and cataloging Horses for Pablo MacDonough and Ayala.

In 2012, the Gibraltar Government chose me to cover the Royal visit of Prince Edward. My photos can be seen on the Monarchy page.

I now shoot with the Fuji XT series camera system. I have also used the Nikon pro series of cameras in many demanding locations from weddings and landscapes to high speed superbikes.

Dibs

I have always loved being outdoors and in the challenging elements. It should come as no surprise that you will normally find me out on location shooting landscapes, seascapes and abandoned locations all over Europe .  Having completed my commercial photography degree with first class honours. I decided to further my studies in the field of the history of landscape photography for my Postgraduate Masters Degree. I now split my time between shooting images for my own portfolio and for print sales  for London image agencies, and teaching workshops for all levels of photographers in all genres of photography.

Photography Workshop Instructor

Duncan

Currently employed as an IT security specialist with over 20+ years experience.  I have a real passion for photography with most of my spare time being generally spent doing something photography related.  I self taught everything I know. Through countless hours of reading books and reading/watching online resources and getting out there and practising.  Teaching and helping other people is something I personally find very rewarding. I have now been doing photography workshops for over two years.
